Zinc Telluride (ZnTe)

Zinc Telluride (ZnTe) is a II–VI compound semiconductor material widely used in optoelectronics, thin film photovoltaics, and advanced electronic applications. ZnTe is known for its direct bandgap and excellent optical properties, making it suitable for light emitting devices, photodetectors, and solar cell technologies.

ZnTe is commonly used as a p-type semiconductor material in heterojunction solar cells and as a back contact layer in thin film photovoltaic devices such as CdTe solar cells. Its favorable band alignment and high absorption coefficient support efficient charge transport and improved device performance.

In addition, ZnTe is used in infrared optics, electro-optic devices, and semiconductor research due to its stable electrical and optical characteristics.

Applications of ZnTe Materials

ZnTe materials are widely used in optoelectronic and photovoltaic technologies.

Common applications include:

  • Thin film solar cells and CdTe photovoltaic devices
  • Back contact layers in solar cells
  • Light emitting devices and LEDs
  • Photodetectors and optical sensors
  • Infrared optics and electro-optic devices
  • Semiconductor and thin film research

The direct bandgap and optical properties of ZnTe enable efficient light interaction and electronic performance in advanced devices.

ZnTe Sputtering Targets for Thin Film Deposition

ZnTe sputtering targets are used in thin film deposition processes to produce high quality semiconductor and optoelectronic films. These targets provide precise control over composition and film uniformity, making them suitable for both research and industrial production.

Thin films produced using ZnTe are widely applied in photovoltaic devices, optical systems, and advanced semiconductor technologies.
